Protecting your privacy is very important to us and one of the core components of our business, we will never share or sell individual personal information with anyone. Information submitted to us is only available to employees of Value Checkers, your Insurers and select information to our courier for the purpose of making a successful collection/delivery of goods. Value Checkers fully complies with all current GDPR regulations are we are registered with the ICO.

Personal data

How we use your information

This privacy notice tells you how Value Checkers, will collect and use your personal data. We need to collect your data in order to provide you with services and could collect the data in a number of ways including by phone, from your Insurer, cookies on a website or a third party assistance company that provides services to your Insurer.

We will use your information for the following reasons:

• The validation of an insurance claim
• The management of repair works to a gadget device
• The management of an insurance claim on behalf of your Insurer

Why does Value Checkers need to collect and store personal data?

In order for us to provide you with a service we need to collect personal data for correspondence purposes so we can keep you fully informed about the progress of your insurance claim through ourselves. In any event, we are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.

Will Value Checkers share my personal data with anyone else?

We may pass your personal data (such as confirmation of your address & mobile number) onto a third-party service provider (a courier) so that we can provide you with the service you expect such as collecting your damaged device and delivering a repaired/replacement gadget back to you. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfil the service they provide you on our behalf.

Can I find out the personal data that the organisation holds about me?

Value Checkers at your request, can confirm what information we hold about you and how it is processed, you can request the following information:

• Contact details of the data protection officer, where applicable.
• The purpose of the processing as well as the legal basis for processing.
• Recipient(s) that the data is/will be disclosed to.
• How long the data will be stored.
• Details of your rights to correct, erase, restrict or object to such processing.

What forms of ID will I need to provide in order to access this?

Value Checkers accepts the following forms of ID when information on your personal data is requested: A valid Passport or driving licence a single item or a birth certificate and utility bill (from the last 3 months) as two items.
